One paramount approach to empowering young people is to support the work of those who demonstrate commitment and ability to influence change in their lives. Key among these change agents are women.

The Woman is central to development in Ghana.  She nourishes, protects and nurtures humanity. The woman who harnesses and promotes positive values and fosters change in the lives of people becomes an effective, coveted weapon for building character, creating wealth, and promoting national pride.  This is the value she infuses into her community and the nation at large.

The “Portrait of an Excellent Woman” Event

This event recognizes and celebrates women who actively participate in improving quality of life, through varied economic and social initiatives. The goal of this is to re-ignite a passion for enterprise and values in society and encouraging more women to actively participate in inspiring change among the youth.

Participants are nominated by communities based on set criteria, and their interventions are showcased on various media platforms to stir up interest and inspire society. The initiatives of winners are supported with the assistance of donor partners to achieve greater impact.
